The Giveaway Guys’ Shopify store directed users to a dedicated cart page after adding items. Session recordings showed low engagement with upsell opportunities, and the additional page load was causing drop-off — particularly on mobile.

We tested a streamlined slide-out cart against the existing dedicated cart page, with a variant that also exposed additional competition entries.
What we did:
- Implemented slide-out cart as an A/B test against the dedicated cart page
- Tested a variant directing users to additional competitions via the slide-out
- Measured conversion rate and revenue per user across both variants
The Results
- +17% conversion rate — the slide-out cart reduced friction and kept users in the flow
- +0.5% revenue per user — a meaningful uplift at their traffic levels
- The slide-out cart became the permanent experience across the store
